Women's Soccer Announces College ID Academy
Feb. 8, 2012 SEATTLE -This year the University of Washington's women's soccer team is offering a new program to attract, interact with, and assess the top local talent in the state of Washington. The UW College ID Academy has formerly been known as the Elite Finishing Academy, but has been modified to cater to a higher-level athlete. UW Women's Soccer Head Coach Lesle Gallimore, associate head coach Amy Griffin, and assistant coach Jim Thomas will work with athletes on speed of play, attacking and finishing. The Academy will also focus on defending with a emphasis on the expectations of athletes competing in the PAC-12 Conference. If you are interested in playing for the Huskies or at any NCAA level, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your athletic and technical ability, as well as your coachability. The dates for the six sessions are Wednesday evenings from March 7-April 11. Sessions run from 7:30 - 9 p.m. in the Dempsey Indoor, located in the heart of the UW campus. Cost for the UW College ID Academy is $250.
