Kate Deines Signs With Seattle Reign Of The NWSL

SEATTLE -- Washington alum Kate Deines becomes the latest Dawg to sign a professional contract with the National Women's Soccer League. She will join the Seattle Reign FC, one of the eight members of the new league that will begin play in the spring of 2013. Deines is a 2012 graduate of Washington where she was a four-year starter. She was a First Team All-Pac-10 player in 2010 and named to the Herman Watch List in 2011. She will join former Husky Hope Solo with the Reign. The other Washington alum currently with a NWSL team is Veronica Perez who was assigned to Western New York. Out of college, Deines was drafted by the Atlanta Beat of the WPS. Recently, she played for Stjarnan Women of Iceland's top division, helping to the Icelandic Women's Cup. |
