Jan. 11, 2012
SEATTLE - Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Kufeld will be in Sarasota, Florida Sunday to participate in the Under-23 National camp. Kufeld will be training with four WPS players and many of the nation's college elite. The Freemont, Calif., native did not play in any games for UW last year but backed up Husky greats Jorde LaFontaine-Kussmann and Kari Davidson. Last summer, Kate Deines trained with the U-23 team while Lindsay Elston, Lindsey Bos and Chelsea Archer were on the U-20 team. Kufeld and the rest of the 24-player roster will train under new U-23 WNT head coach Randy Waldrum from January 15-22. UW's Hope Solo is on the U.S. National Team and will be competing later this month in the Olympic Qualifying stages in Canada.
