Four-year letterwinner.

2009 (Senior)
Had a career-year scoring wise for the Huskies, moving up to the midfield after mostly playing on the backline throughout her career... Came into the season with four career points but broke out with four goals and three assists, ranking third on the team with 11 points... Her four goals came off just 10 shots on goal (20 shots total) and her .200 shot percentage ranked second on the team... Did most of her damage coming off the bench, appearing in 19 of 22 matches but starting just four times... Three of her four starts came in Pac-10 play... Was UW's specialist on re-starts, booming in a pair of clutch free kicks... One of those was a golden goal at UC-Irvine where she blasted in the game-winner from 35 yards out just over a minute into overtime.... Scored again in the next game at Cal-State Fullerton, netting the go ahead-goal in the 89th minute before the Titans tied it up with eight seconds left... Her first goal of the season against Colorado College also came on a free kick from 25 yards out which tied the match at 1-1... Also had the game-winning assist in the match, which UW won, 3-1... Her second assist of the season also led to a game-winning goal against Utah State... Scored her fourth goal in UW's 2-0 win over Arizona and assisted on UW's only goal in a 1-1 draw with Washington State.

2008 (Junior)
Played in all 22 games for the Huskies, making two starts... Took 15 shots, good for ninth on the team... Came off the bench to take two shots in the second game of the season at Gonzaga... Made her first start of the season the next game at home against Colgate... Also took two shots against Kennesaw State... Got her second start against Northern Arizona... Took a season-high four shots against Oregon State, two of which were on goal.

2007 (Sophomore)
Played in 16 of the team's 19 games, starting 13 of those games... Continued to show a knack for scoring from the defensive position, scoring one goal and recording two assists to rack up four points... Took a total of six shots during the season, four of which were on goal... Scored the Huskies' first goal in a 3-2 loss to Utah (Sept. 22)... The goal came off of a corner kick early in the game... Assisted on goals in back-to-back Husky wins against Yale (Sept. 14) and Kansas (Sept 16)... Assisted on Shuree Hyatt's game-winning goal against Yale on a free kick to give UW the 2-1 win... Assisted on the only goal in UW's 1-0 win over Kansas, setting up McKenna Waitley for the first-half goal.

2006 (Freshman)
Started all 20 games ... Anchored a defense that recorded five shutouts and limited five other opponents to just one goal ... Attempted three shots ... An All-Pac-10 Freshman Team selection ... Voted to received UW's Rookie of the Year award by her teammates ... Selected to the all-tournament team at the Ohio State Tournament (Sept. 17).

Mt. Rainier High School
Received first-team All-Seamount League honors as a junior and senior ... A second-team All-Seamount selection as a sophomore ... Recognized as a 2005 NSCAA/adidas Youth All-American ... Selected to the 2004 King County Journal All-Area southern team ... Also lettered in basketball and softball ... Voted to the first-team All-Seamount League squad in softball.

Personal
Born in Seattle, Washington ... Parents are Carryl and Thomas Murray ... Ranked among the top-75 recruits in the class of 2006 by SoccerBuzz.com ... Played on the same Maple Valley Marauders club squad as current UW teammate Chelsea Bumbaugh ... A member of the Region IV team that won the Olympic Development Program (ODP) national championship in 2004.

Coach Gallimore on Murray
"Nikki is making the move from playing in the back to the midfield. Her fitness improved a ton and she's one of the best passers on our team. She's good on the ball and very deceptive. We expect big things from her."

GETTING TO KNOW NIKKI MURRAY

Nikki Murray In Her Own Words
I am from Des Moines, WA (not Des Moines, Iowa) and I have the funniest most supporting family in the world. I am very much into sports and I enjoy watching sports with my brothers. I am 5 foot 7 inches but I have to smallest feet and hands that do not fit with my body, this is my dad's fault. I have two brothers and one sister. My brother is 25 and my sister is 22 and my little brother is 17. I love hanging out with my family because they are always there for me and always know how to make each other laugh and have a good time. I have the best yellow lab in the world named, Jake. My dream is to do something with cars in my future. I like looking at and talking about fast cars. I have lived with the same person for the last four years, my teammate Veronica Perez and couldn't ask for a better roommate and sister for life. I enjoy golfing in my spare time and hope to do it a lot once I am done with soccer. I can outdrive my brothers and dad, they don't like to golf with me because of that. I love chicken fried rice and could eat it every week. I love spring at UW because the trees in the Quad are so pretty.
