SEATTLE – Approximately 75 young gymnasts have taken over the Huskies practice facility at Bank of America Arena this week. This is the third and final session of camp for the summer. Girls seven and up of all levels are practicing and perfecting their skills on the balance beam, bars, floor exercise and vault. Fifth-year head UW coach Joanna Bowers is running the camp, along with her two assistant coaches David McCreary and Shanna Hannan. Many members of the current Husky team are also participating as camp coaches.
