No. 22 GymDawgs Look Towards Huge Meet At ASU
Feb. 21, 2013
SEATTLE - With the first RQS being released next week that determines the rankings for the regional seeds, the No. 22 Huskies are looking for a big road score at Arizona State on Friday at 6 p.m. Up until now, the GymInfo Rankings have been based on each teams average score from all of their meets combined. The RQS will be the ranking system used as of next week for the rest of the year and takes six scores from each team, three road and three home, and drops the top score to average the remaining five meets. Teams get to use their three best home and road scores so a huge road score this week for UW would mean the Huskies could drop their opening weekend score at Minnesota which was a 193.500 and likely push the Huskies up in the rankings. Washington has continued to move up in the rankings each week, up one spot to No. 22 this week with a 195.188. In the team rankings by event, the Huskies are 22nd on bars (48.833) and 11th on beam (48.888). Arizona State is No. 27 overall with a 194.954 average. As a team on beam they are 14th with a 48.804 average. The Huskies and Sun Devils split in 2012 with the UW getting the win in a dual in Seattle and ASU just edging out the Huskies at the Pac-12 Championships. Fans can watch the meet via live video streaming and live stats on ASU's website. The links are also posted at the top of this story. | ||||||||||||
