WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Freshman Allison Northey (Sammamish, Wash.) is the first Washington gymnast to earn conference honors this season just being named the Pac-12 Newcomer of the Week for the week of Feb. 11-17. Northey competed in the all-around for the first time as a collegiate and finished third overall with a 39.075 as the Huskies tied No. 6 Utah for the second time in school history. She tied for second and bars and beam and posted a new career-high on beam with a 9.850. She competed on floor for the first time in college having competed on the other three events in previous weeks. Makayla Stambaugh from Oregon State is the Gymnast of the Week and Tory Wilson from Utah is the Event Specialist of the Week. The GymDawgs head to Arizona State on Friday at 6 p.m. PT. |
