SEATTLE –With a strong showing at their 2013 home opener on Jan. 18, the GymDawgs hope to take that confidence to Fort Worth, Texas for the Metroplex Challenge Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. PT.

This annual meet, held at the Fort Worth Convention Center, features No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 7 LSU, No. 9 Georgia and No. 16 Oregon State.

The Huskies were No. 17 in the pre-season rankings three weeks ago and moved up three spots from last week’s poll after a 194.800 to win the home Quad Meet and upset then-ranked No. 17 Cal.

Oklahoma has three of the top 15 all-around competitors in the country based on average score so far on the season. As a team, the Sooners average a 196.825 with a high of 197.325.

LSU holds a 196.158 average, Georgia a 195.892 and Oregon State with a 194.975.

Senior co-captain Lauren Rogers (Plains, Pa.) for the Huskies is tied for 35th in the country in the all-around after posting a 39.025 in her first such competition of the year last week to win the title. She also currently ranks tied for 18th on vault with a 9.875 average.

Go Huskies!
