Women's Gymnastics Team Wins Final Season Meet
March 13, 1998 SEATTLE - Junior All-American Tiffany Simpson won the all-around competition to lead seventh-ranked Washington to victory in a three-way women's gymnastics meet with Boise State and Seattle Pacific. The Huskies totaled 195.875 to outscore second-place Boise State (192.750) while Seattle Pacific was third at 187.650. Simpson won three events (bars, beam and floor), recorded two school records - a 9.925 on beam and a perfect 10 on floor - and posted a career best all-around score of 39.65. Washington posted a team school record on balance beam with a 49.450. Husky senior Klara Kudilkova finished third in the all-around, second on vault and third on beam. The other UW senior, Jamie Stauffer ,was fifth in the all-around and second on bars. The Huskies are currently ranked No. 1 in the Pac-10. Washington will compete in the Pac-10 Championships March 21 at UCLA and then return home for the West Regionals on April 4. Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Team Scores: 1. Washington 195.875 2.
