Husky Gym Team Wins at Utah State
March 6, 1998 LOGAN, Utah - Despite the absence of senior All-American Klara Kudilkova, the 13th-ranked Washington women's gymnastics team cruised to a win in a four-way meet at Utah State. The Huskies' 194.775 score bettered second-place Auburn (192.100), 20th-ranked Utah State (191.725) and Southern Utah (189.400) to raise Washington's record to 11-3. Tiffany Simpson used first-place showing on bars (9.750) and floor exercise (9.900) to win the all-around title with a score of 39.250. Sophomore Lauren Riesenman was also impressive with second-place showings on beam (9.875) and floor (9.875). Kudilkova, who was named the Pac-10 gymnast of the week the past two weeks, did not compete. She hyperextended an elbow in last week's UW win vs. UCLA.
