Henry Ruggiero

Strength & Conditioning

Henry Ruggiero has been an assistant strength and conditioning coach at UW since January of 2009, and in 2012 became the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports. In his time at Washington, he has worked with the women's gymnastics, women's volleyball, men's soccer and football teams.

Ruggiero attended Springfield College in Massachusetts from 2004-2008, competing for the men's soccer team. In his time there, he was given the Men's Soccer Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year award. He was also a two-time Fall All-Academic Team member. During his summers while an undergrad, Ruggiero worked as a strength and conditioning intern at Boston College, and as a performance coach at Athletic Evolution.

After graduation, Ruggiero served a stint as strength and conditioning intern at the University of Southern California. He then held the positions of Graduate Assistant and Graduate Researcher at the University of Connecticut starting in 2008, while also pursuing a master's degree in art and studying kinesiology.
