Shanna Hannan coached for five seasons at UW, leaving after the 2011 season.

In 2011, Hannan, along with David McCreary were named the West Region co-Assistant Coaches of the Year.

Hannan arrived in Seattle from Ann Arbor where she had served as the volunteer coach for the Wolverines in 2006. Hannan, a 2005 graduate of Michigan, earned her degree in sports management and communications.

As a senior at the University of Michigan, Hannan lettered and was named a Second Team All-Big Ten Conference selection, an Academic All-American and an All-Big Ten Academic honoree. Hannan spent her first three years of college at Central Michigan University, where she was the MAC Champion on vault as a freshman and a NACGC Academic All-American.

"She is a great young coach who interacts well with the girls and really knows how to teach," said Bowers in 2006. "She is a Canadian who will play an important role in helping to recruit Canada also. [David, Shanna and I] are very excited to be able to work together and to be able to be at a great school like the University of Washington."

The former Shanna Duggan, Hannan married Olympic gold-medalist and former Washington swim coach Tommy Hannan in 2009.
