Aronsson, Alvarez Wrap Up Third Day Of LPGA Qualifying

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Former Husky golfers Molly Aronsson and Anya Alvarez finished day three of six of the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament with Aronsson among the coveted top-70, while Alvarez has some work to do on Saturday. After Saturday's round, the 139-person field is whittled down to 70 players and ties. The final top 40 and ties will receive 2012 LPGA Tour membership, while the other players who make the cut will receive LPGA Futures Tour status. Aronsson is tied for 62nd at +9 for the tournament being played on the Champions and Legends Courses of LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. The 2010 Husky grad shot an even-par 72 on Friday. Alvarez is +14 overall after shooting a 73 on Friday. She is tied for 106th and will have to make up some ground on Saturday in order to make the final two days of action. Christine Song continues to lead the event and is -10 overall. She has a five stroke lead. |
