DAYTONA, Fla. - Anya Alvarez, a 2011 Washington graduate, shot 75 in Wednesday's opening round of the LPGA Final Qualifying tournament and is tied for 67th out of 121 competitors.

Golfers will play 90 holes over five days at LPGA International, Legends & Champions course in Daytona, Fla. The top 20 players at the conclusion of the event will earn Priority in Category 12. Players finishing in the 21st-45th spots will earn Priority in Category 17.

Alvarez's round included four bogeys and a single birdie. She is seven shots behind the leaders.

Kathleen Ekey, Moriya Jutanugarn and Kim Welch each shot first round 68's to grab the early lead.
