WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- For the second-straight month, the Husky women's golf team claimed the Pac-12 Golfer of the Month honor. Sophomore SooBin Kim earned the conference honor for October after having a stellar month that saw her shoot up to No. 2 in the national individual rankings.

SooBin Kim kicked off October with a 17th place finish by shooting 6-over 222 at the Windy City Championship, but her efforts were good enough to be second best among Huskies and help the Huskies finish 2nd at the tournament.

Kim would ratchet up her game a notch after being left out of the team's lineup for the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. She shot a tournament record 11-under 205 to win by 12 strokes. She shot a pair of 67's in the final two rounds to win while competing as an individual, while the Huskies were still able to capture the team title by 14 strokes even without Kim's score counting.

Kim wrapped up the fall by shooting 4-under 209 at the Stanford Intercollegiate to finish second among individuals and second as a team.

In all, she had four rounds in the 60s during the month and moved up to second in both the Golfstat and Golfweek rankings.

The Huskies finished the fall ranked No. 1 by Golfweek and No. 2 by Golfstat.com after compiling a 58-2 overall head-to-head record against their competition.

Kim's teammate freshman Charlotte Thomas won Pac-12 Golfer of the Month honors for September.

Go Huskies!
