Husky Golfers Head to Stanford

SEATTLE
THIS WEEK: The 23rd-ranked Washington women's golf team will travel to Stanford University, Oct 22-24 for the 36th annual Stanford/PEPSI Women's Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. The 18-team tournament begins Friday with tee times starting at 8:00 am at the Stanford Golf Course, a par 72, 6,154-yard layout The three-day, 54-hole event continues Saturday,also at 8 a.m., followed by a shotgun start Sunday at 8 a.m.

THE FIELD: Washington will be one of 12 nationally ranked teams competing in the tournament. Individually, the Huskies’ 25th ranked Elisha Au will be joined by nine other ranked competitors. The teams and their ranked individuals are as follows: No. 2 Arizona ( No. 2 Jenna Daniels, No. 12 Cristina Baena, No. 18 Jill Gomric), No. 4 Arizona State (No. 1 Miriam Nagl), California, Indiana, No. 22 New Mexico, No. 14 New Mexico State, No. 10 Oregon, No. 24 Oregon State, No. 12 Pepperdine (No. 5 Tamie Durdin), SMU, No. 5 Stanford (No. 7 Hilary Homeyer, No. 11 Stephanie Keever), Texas A&M, Texas Tech, No. 13 Tulsa (No. 10 Stacy Prammanasudh), No. 9 UCLA (No. 16 Amanda Moltke-Leth), No. 23 Washington (No. 25 Elisha Au), Washington State, and No. 19 San Jose State. Rankings are based on the Oct. 6 MasterCard Collegiate Golf Poll.

LAST WEEK: The Huskies finished sixth in their own Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational after shooting a team total of 940 at Sahalee Golf and Country Club. Fourth-ranked USC took first in the 13-team field. Three tournament all-time lows were recorded, including USC's team score of 878 (previous 881). The Trojans also captured the all-time low mark after 36 holes by one stroke with a score of 584 following the first and second rounds. Pepperdine's Tamie Durdin claimed the tournament record for all-time individual low score after finishing the course in 208 strokes, 3 strokes down from the previous record of 211.
