Aronsson Advances To Final Stage of LPGA Q-School

Scoring VENICE, Fla. -- Former Husky Molly Aronsson shot a final round 3-under 69 in Stage II of LPGA Qualifying School on Friday to finish tied for 18th and advance to the final stage of qualifying. Aronsson, a 2010 UW graduate, ended up -2 (286) overall after 72 holes at Plantation Golf and Country Club. The cutline was +5 and a total of 72 golfers advanced to the final in November. Fellow Husky alum, Anya Alvarez, missed the cut by one stroke. She entered the day at +3 overall but shot a 3-over 75 in the final round. The LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament (Stage III) will be contested over 90 holes and will be held Nov. 30 through Dec. 4, on both the Champions and Legends courses at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Top finishers in the final stage will earn 2012 LPGA membership (total number of cards TBD) and all others who make the cut will receive membership on the LPGA Futures Tour.
