SEATTLE - Soo Bin Kim of the women's golf team is the Gohuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 19-25. This is the first such honor of her career and the first for the women's golf team.

Three Husky women's golfers finished among the top five to lead Washington to a 12-stroke victory in the Cougar Cup at Palouse Ridge Golf Club on last week. Washington ended up shooting a tournament record +26 overall (890) to claim its first team title since winning the California Collegiate on April 10, 2005.

"It's great," Husky Head Coach Mary Lou Mulflur said about her program's season-opening victory. "It was a total team effort.

Washington combined for an 8-over 296 in the final round. Stanford ended up second, thanks to the day's best score of 292. The Cardinal ended up at +38 (902). Idaho was third at +46, followed by host Washington State at +53. Stanford's Sally Watson rolled in a 40-foot putt on her final hole to shoot 2-under 70 and win by a stroke at +4 (220) overall.

Husky freshmen Cyd Okino and Soo Bin Kim entered the final round first and second on the leaderboard, but could not hold onto the lead in their first-ever collegiate tournament. Kim tied for second with two other competitors at +5 (221) to lead the Huskies.

Other nominees include: Joey Bywater (men's cross country), Lindsay Flanagan (women's cross country), Austin Seferian-Jenkins (football), Spencer Richey (men's soccer), Lauren Barfield (volleyball) and Morgan Swanson (women's soccer).
