Women's Golfer Finish 6th at Pac-10s
April 25, 1999 STANFORD, Calif - Stanford fired a 12-over-par 876 over three rounds to win the Pac-10 Championship by 12 strokes over second-place Arizona at Stanford Golf Course. Washington posted 915 to finish sixth. The Huskies got a solid performance from sophomore Elisha Au in Sunday's third round turning in a 74 after a second-round 73. Au finished tied for 11th with a 7-over 223. Freshman standout Kelli Kamimura finished the tournament in 23rd with a plus-14 230 after a 79 in the final round. Jennifer Stapleton carded 75 in the final-round to finish in 42nd with 238. Andrea Cordova also posted her best score of the tournament with a 77, finishing a stoke back of Stapleton, tied for 43rd. Grace Park of Arizona State took medalist honors after coming in with a tournament low 3-under 69 to finish 5-under for the tournament. Hilary Homeyer, playing on home course, was second with an even-par 216. Arizona State was third in the team standings with an 893, followed by UCLA with an 899. Southern California dropped to fifth Sunday, finishing with 901, 14 strokes ahead of Washington. Washington's men's golf team hosts the Pac-10 Championships beginning Monday and continuing through Wednesday at Seattle's Broadmoor Golf Club. Play begins at 8 a.m. each day.
