The Washington women's golf team moved up one spot to sixth place after the first 36 holes of the Pac-10 Championship at Arizona State's Karsten Golf Course. The Huskies shot 300 on the second day of play to post a two-day total of 602. Arizona State and Arizona are tied at 10-over par 586 after the second round.
Washington junior Kelli Kamimura shot one-under par 71 to move into a three-way tie for fifth place with a score of 145. Kamimura trails tournament leader Natalie Gulbis by three strokes. Three players are tied for second at 144.
Arizona State entered the day seven strokes behind California but moved into a tie for first place after shooting the low team round of the day. Stanford is third just three strokes behind the Sun Devils and the Wildcats at 589, while Cal slipped from first to fourth after shooting a 14-over 302 Tuesday to finish at 590 after two rounds.
Washington's Louise Friberg shot 75 for a two-day total of 151 to move into 21st place. Husky senior Elisha Au, who was tied with Kamimura for 12th place after the first 18 holes, shot 81 on Tuesday for a 36-hole total of 155 to fall back to 36th. Lindsay Moran and Bianca Clark are tied for 42nd at 157. Michelle Grafos, who is competing as an individual, is 48th with a score of 159.
The 2001 Pac-10 Women's Golf Championships conclude Wednesday with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
