Stanford, CA - The Washington women's golf team is tied for third place after the opening round of the Peg Barnard Collegiate at the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif. The Huskies, who shot a 306 on the afternoon, trail tournament leader Stanford by just five strokes. California is in second place at 304. San Jose State is tied with the Huskies.

Washington junior Kelli Kamimura and senior Elisha Au are tied for 10th place after shooting 76. San Francisco's Susannah Laing leads the tournament with a score of 71.

A pair of Husky freshmen, Lindsay Morgan and Bianca Clark, are just one stroke behind their Washington teammates. Louise Friberg is in 36th place after shooting 81. Michelle Grafos, who is competing as an individual and does not count toward the team scoring, also shot 81.

The Peg Barnard Collegiate concludes Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Stanford Golf Course.
