Women's Golfers Finish Fourth
April 11, 1999 STANFORD, Calif -- Washington's women's golf team carded 315 in the second and final round of the California Collegiate to finish fourth in the 12-team field. Washington carded 621 for the 36-hole tournament at Stanford Golf Course, where Pac-10 teams claimed the top six places in the tournament. Southern California won the tournament with 599. Washington was led by sophomore Elisha Au who recorded her second top-5 finish of the year. Au fired a 1-over-par 73 on the 6,154 yard track on Sunday, finishing tied with USC's Leila Chartrand with 148 over two rounds. UW All-American candidate Kelli Kamimura finished in a 5-way tie for 25th with a 158 after an 83 on Sunday. Andread Cordova notched a she of 30th with a 159 with Paola Bellotti finishing just one stroke back, tied for 32nd. Jennifer Stapleton rounded out Washington's scoring for the tournament with a 163. Oregon State edged Washington for third place by a stroke while Stanford was six-back of USC in second place. Individually, Stephanie Keever won the tournament with an even-par 144 on her home course. Defending National Champion Jennifer Rosales and Kathleen Takaishi shared the No. 2 spot at 2-over. Washington returns to Stanford on April 23-25 for the Pac-10 Championship.
