Kamimura Named Rolex College Golfer of the Month

Princeton, NJ - Washington junior golfer Kelli Kamimura (Burlington, Wash.) and Arizona State senior Jeff Quinney (Eugene, Ore.) have been named the Rolex College Golfers of the Month for March, after both won the individual titles at Rolex Collegiate Tour events during the month.
Kamimura won the individual title at the Spartan Invitational on March 7, her second Rolex Collegiate Tour win of the season. She fired a seven-under par 209 (74-69-66) while leading the Huskies to a fifth place finish. Kamimura was named the Golf World Player of the Week, for the week ending March 9. Ranked No. 65 in the April 4 edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, Kamimura finished the month with a stroke average of 69.67 (three rounds).
Quinney, the 2000 U.S. Amateur Champion, will be competing at The Masters in Augusta, Georgia this weekend. He will be paired with Vijay Singh, the tournament's defending champion, and Loren Roberts for Thursday's first round at the Augusta National Golf Club.
Quinney won the individual medalist honors at the Las Vegas Intercollegiate on March 11th, his first Rolex Collegiate Tour win of the season. He fired a 13-under par 203 (69-67-67) - winning by seven shots - while leading Arizona State to a sixth place finish. He also tied for ninth place at the Cleveland Golf/Southwestern Invitational, where he shot 76-71 (147, +5) while helping to lead the Sun Devils to the team title.
Quinney was named the Golf World Collegiate Player of the Week, for the week ending March 16. Ranked No. 11 in the April 4 edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, Quinney compiled a stroke average of 70.00 for the month (five rounds).
The Rolex College Golfer of the Month award is voted on by members of the College Golf Foundation's Golfer of the Month Committee. The award is based primarily on results from Rolex Collegiate Tour events, plus conference championships, NCAA Regionals and the NCAA Championships. Each winner will receive a certificate from the College Golf Foundation in recognition of this honor.
