Spartan Invitational Up Next For Women's Golf

SEATTLE - The Washington women's golf team continues its spring season by competing in the Spartan Invitational in San Jose, Calif., Monday, March 3 and Tuesday, March 4.
The two-day, 54-hole event will be held at the par-72, 6,179-yard Almaden Country Club. Tee times begin both days at 8 a.m. PT. Thirty-six holes will be played Monday with the final 18 slated for Tuesday.
Joining Washington in the 15-team field will be No. 12 California, UC Irvine, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Idaho, Long Beach State, No. 34 North Carolina, Oregon State, University of San Francisco, No. 38 San Jose State and Santa Clara.
Host San Jose State is the defending team champion, while UC Irvine's Selanee' Henderson is the defending Spartan Invitational medalist. The Huskies finished seventh at last year's event, with departed letterwinners Amber Prange and Kim Shin finishing as the top individuals in a tie for 15th.
Washington is coming off a 15th-place finish at last week's Wildcat Invitational in its spring debut (91-over 943). The Huskies were led by freshman Anya Alvarez who tied for 40th (18-over 231).
