UW Women's Golf Heads to Spartan Invite

COMING UP: The Washington women's golf team will travel to Monterey Calif, March 6-8, for the San Jose State-hosted Spartan Invitational. The three-day tournament takes place at the Laguna Seca Golf Club. A college-am and practice round will take place on Sunday, March 5, with Louise Friberg competing for the Huskies. Round one begins with tee times at 8:00 am on Monday, March 6.
THE FIELD: The teams are as follows: No. 15 San Jose State, No. 16 Tulsa, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 89 San Francisco, Santa Clara, No. 56 BYU, No. 58 Hawaii, No. 65 Vanderbilt, No. 57 WSU, No. 25 Washington, No. 76 Northern Arizona, No. 44 Tulane. (All rankings are based on the February 28th Sagarin College Golf Rankings.)
THE LINEUP: Washington will use the following lineup: 1. Louise Friberg, 2. Andrea Cordova, 3. Kelli Kamimura, 4. Elisha Au, 5. Mendy Cooper.
LAST TIME: The UW women's golf team finished in 12th place with a score of 898 at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational. Host Arizona claimed the tournament title after shooting a 7-under score of 857. Duke's Beth Bauer captured individual medalist honors with a three-round total of 211. The Huskies were led by freshman Louise Friberg, who shot under her previous low mark of 74 twice during the competition to finish with a total of 224 strokes.
