Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Rainbow Tourney
March 26, 1998 HONOLULU -- The Washington women's golf team finished in a tie for 10th place at the Rainbow Wahine Golf Tournament on Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course with a 54-hole total of 944 to tie with San Francisco in the three day tournament. Tulsa finished atop the leader board in a field of 20 teams with a final score of 896 followed by Arizona at 899 and Louisiana State at 907. A pair of LSU golfers took individual medalist honors with Ashley Winn the firing a three-round total of 212, followed by teammate Katy Wilkinson at 218. Jennifer Stapleton was the top Husky finisher, in a tie for 17th place with a 54-hole total of 230 (75-78-77). Hawaii native and UW freshman Elisha Au was next, in a tie for 35th with a 234 total. She carded a season-best one-over par 73 on the first day of the tournament but followed it with rounds of 80 and 81. The Huskies continue play on the road, with their next tournament the Arizona State Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., April 3-5.
