Women's Golf in Fourth Place at Hawai'i Tourney

HONOLULU -- The Washington women's golf team missed carding a season-best 18-hole score by one stroke in the first round of the Rainbow Wahine Golf Tournament on Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. The Huskies posted a 306 to place in a tie for fourth with Tulsa. Arizona and Louisiana State are tied for the lead the 20-team field with 302.
Washington freshman Elisha Au, a native of Hawai'i, leads the Huskies after carding a one-over-par 73, in a four-way tie for second place overall. The 73 tied a season-best for Au, who carded an even-par 36 on the back-nine. Jennifer Stapleton also posted good numbers on the 5,829-yard course with a 75 in the first round.
The 54-hole tournament continues with the final two rounds on Wednesday and Thursday.
