MONTEREY, Calif. -- Junior Mendy Cooper leads the Washington women's golf team after she finished the first round of the Spartan Invitaional in a tie for ninth. Cooper carded 80, battling high winds on Fort Ord's, Bayonet Golf Course. The Huskies are in 11th place after the first round of play after carding 348 as a team. Tulsa leads at 318. The second of three rounds tees up on Tuesday morning. |
