Schedule & Boats: NCAA Championship Finals
May 27, 2012 WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - Final day of racing at Lake Mercer for the NCAA Championships, and the Huskies have an opportunity to rack up a lot of points with two boats in the Grand Finals, including the Varsity Eight. First race begins at 7:25 a.m. PST with the Varsity Four Grand Final. The Huskies were the last qualifier for the final after a Herculean sprint pushed Washington past Harvard in the final 250 meters of the race. The takeaway from this championship is that the Huskies have put themselves in a position to do something special. Leading up to the NCAAs, coach Bob Ernst said the goal was to make the Grand Final of the Varsity Eight, something the Huskies haven't done since 2008. Being that they've achieved the goal, the pressure is off in the final. Now the focus will be on having a fast race and seeing how it stacks up.
