Lauber, Goodger, Jackson Earn All-Pac-12 Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - A second-place finish at the Pac-12 Rowing Championships led to a trio of Huskies having plenty of representation when the All-Conference awards were announced Thursday by Commissioner Larry Scott.
Erin Lauber, Kirstyn Goodger and Kelsey Jackson were each named to the All-Pac-12 team, giving the Washington women's crew program their greatest level of representation on the list since 2004. All three Huskies were fixtures in the varsity eight boat that has held its own against the nation's fastest crews all season long.
All three Huskies were first-time honorees on the All-Conference list. For Lauber, the award comes as her final season nears its conclusion at Washington. The senior and former walk-on from Edmonds, Wash., comes from a family with a rich history of rowing for UW, as both of Lauber's parents competed as student-athletes.
Goodger has been instrumental in fortifying the Husky boat with an elevated level of toughness this season. The sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand came to Montlake after winning a silver medal at the Junior World Championships, and her arrival has coincided with marked increases in speed for the varsity.
All season long, women's coach Bob Ernst has heralded the work Jackson has done as the team's coxswain. The junior from La Jolla, Calif., is in her first season with the varsity, but has already drawn praise for her course management and motivational skills. As a sophomore, Jackson was the coxswain of the second varsity eight that won the Petite Final at the NCAA Championships, which helped the Huskies finish eighth in the nation.
Members of the All-Conference rowing teams are based upon each institution's finish in the varsity eight championship race at the Pac-12 Championships. The conference champion provides four members of the All-Conference team, the Pac-10 second-place crew provides three members, and the Pac-12 third-place finisher provides two. All other participating Conference crews receive one selection each.
