This spring has been very eventful for our athletes and coaching staff. We had a good change in the NCAA rules that allowed us to work with our athletes four hours per week in the gym and four hours of fitness, mental training and yoga. The improvements that I have seen in our players on both ends of the court have been impressive and exciting.

The WSAAC student committee recently put together a fun evening of formal dress, awards and entertainment for each and every team at the University. The academic awards were presented by our Provost, Phyllis Wise, and were well received by those in attendance. The video, entertainment and shows were a lot of fun and a good way to recap a great year in Husky Athletics!

USA Basketball and Seattle Storm Head Coach, Anne Donovan was gracious with her time this spring to stop by and visit with our basketball family. She shared some strong insight into what the off-season of a basketball player has to entail in order to achieve greatness. We are so fortunate to live in a city with professional sports right down the road, and to have a coach like Anne, who makes herself available to our programs. No wonder she is such an accomplished winner at every level.

Our students are headed into finals week and then will have some time for much needed rest and relaxation. They have been strong community servants, as well as outstanding student-athletes. Needless to say, I am proud of them. We have a foreign trip to Italy we are preparing for, our basketball camps, recruiting, and three outstanding recruits will arrive on our campus soon.

Our summer is going to be awesome!
