Having won four of its last five games, the Washington women's basketball team (4-2) is looking to start another winning streak when an old rival ventures up to Seattle - Long Beach State. In a 2 p.m. tip on Sunday afternoon, the Huskies will attempt to match their highest non-conference win total since the 2006-07 season.
The meeting between the two schools is the first in 20 years, and a throwback to when the 49ers and the Huskies competed for West Coast supremacy.
Long Beach is coming off a 78-49 loss to Seattle University. The 49ers allowed the Redhawks to shoot 55 percent from the field. LBSU has lost five of its last six games heading into Sunday's matchup.

Broadcast/Media
For regular season and postseason games, 13-year veteran Steve Sandmeyer handles all play-by-play duties for the Washington Huskies - both home and away - on KKNW 1150AM. Sandmeyer is once again joined by color analyst (and former UW letterwinner) Elise Woodward for home games.
The pregame show for Idaho will begin at approximately 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday. For streaming audio, please visit www.1150kknw.com.
Live stats for the game will be available on GameTracker. Fans can also participate in an interactive chat during the game on gohuskies.com.

Husky Storylines
Regina Rogers continued her torrid stretch of play with 27 points and 14 rebounds against Idaho, both new career-highs. Rogers also played 31 minutes.
• The Huskies committed just 12 turnovers, a season-low, at Idaho.
Aminah Williams continues to be a threat on the defensive end. The athletic 6-0 frosh set a new personal best with three steals against Idaho. She's recorded at least two steals in all but one game this year.
• The Huskies played their third different starting lineup against Idaho.
• Washington is scoring nearly 33 percent of its points in the paint this season.
• The Huskies did not allow Idaho - an up-tempo team - to record a fast-break point. The Huskies allow just 1.7 FBP a game.
• Coach Kevin McGuff turned 42 on Saturday.

Other UW Quick Hitters
• Washington is fourth in the Pac-12 Conference in field goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to make just 34 percent of their shots. The team holds its opponents to just 56.3 ppg as well.
Regina Rogers moved into fourth place on the Pac-12 scoring list with 18.8 points per game. Her 72 percent field goal percentage is the league's top mark.
• Both Mercedes Wetmore and Jazmine Davis rank in the top 10 of the Pac-12 in free throw shooting. Wetmore (third) is making almost 88 percent of her attempts from the charity stripe while Davis (fifth) is just over 85 percent.

About Long Beach State
• Long Beach State University is located 30 miles south of Los Angeles. The 49ers are a member of the Big West Conference.
• LBSU is coached by Jody Wynn, who is in her third year with the program. In her first year on the job, she took a team that had failed to qualify for the Big West Tournament the previous year and led them to a fourth-place finish in conference play. In her second season, Wynn led the 49ers to a sixth-place finish in the conference. Wynn previously coached at USC, where she was the team's recruiting coordinator. In 2006, helped USC bring in the nation's top ranked recruiting class.
• Long Beach is led by Tipesa Moorer, who is averaging 10.4 points per game for the 49ers. No other LBSU player is scoring in double-digits.
• Before the season started Long Beach State was picked to finish ninth in the Big West, due in large part to their inexperience as a team. Out of the 15 players on last year's team only seven have returned for this season.

Series Record: The two programs are meeting for the eighth time in history, with all seven previous matchups going in favor of the 49ers ... LBSU beat Washington during the NCAA Tournament in 1987 (2nd Round) & 1988 (Regional Semifinals) in the run-up to the Final Four during its heyday.

Noteworthy: The 49ers are on the tail end of a seven-game road trip, rare for college baskteball teams. During the course of the trip LBSU has gone to New York (Syracuse), then the Bay Area (Santa Clara) and then back to the Empire State to play two games in the NYC region ... UW forward Mollie Williams hails from Cerritos, Calif., which is a stone's throw from the LBSU campus ... The 49ers have a player (Sigrid Skorpen) from Asker, Norway, the same town the Huskies visited on their European Tour this summer.

Up Next For The Huskies
Washington's homestand continues when the team hosts I-5 rival Portland on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. The Huskies and Pilots have not faced each other since the first round of the 2010 Women's Basketball Invitational. r. Williams also scored 11 points and hit her first-career 3 pointer.

Last Time Out
The Huskies made a short trip to neighboring Idaho and came away with a solid 66-49 victory against the Vandals. Regina Rogers led the Dawgs with 27 points and 14 rebounds, both of which were career-highs for the redshirt senior. Aminah Williams added 11 points off the bench, but it was her all-around effort that pulsed the Huskies most. Williams recorded a season-high three steals, six steals and hit the first 3 pointer of her career.
With a focus on ball-control, the Huskies committed just 12 turnovers against the Vandals. The Dawgs also pulled down 50 rebounds, including 15 that came on the offensive end.

Go Huskies!
