SEATTLE - Women's basketball sophomore Mercedes Wetmore was named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 14-20. This is the first honor on the year for the women's basketball team.

In the first win of the season for the Huskies against Seattle U on Nov. 16, Wetmore scored a career-high 16 points, had three assists and two steals in 31 minutes.

Three days later, the Lake Tapps, Wash., native reached a new career-high with 17 points in a 73-67 victory over Cal State Northridge. She made nine of 10 free throws attempted, had three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 3 minutes.

The UW women's basketball team is 2-1 on the year and heads to UC Santa Barbara and San Diego State this week.
