Women's Basketball Plays Second Exhibition Game Sunday

Game: Washington vs. Bay Area Pro-Am The Washington women's basketball team plays its second and final exhibition game Sun., Nov. 12 when it hosts the Bay Area Pro-Am, a team of former collegiate players from Northern California. Headlining the visiting team is former Husky standout Jamie Redd (1996-99), who finished her college career as Washington's all-time leading scorer with 2,027 points. She is joined by another former Husky, Melissa Wuschnig, who helped lead UW to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances in 1993, '94 and '95. The San Francisco Bay Area Women's Pro-Am basketball league was formed in 1995 to provide a fun atmosphere and good time in the community for quality players, teams and spectators from around the Bay Area, free of charge. Players who have competed in the league include Jamila Wideman, Anita Kaplan, Rehema Stephens, Vanessa Nygaard, Kate Starbird and Jennifer Azzi.

DIRECTIONS TO MOUNTLAKE TERRACE HIGH SCHOOL FROM 405: If you are on 405 North, take the exit which takes you to I-5 South/Lynwood. Stay in the far right lane, taking 181 almost immediately off I-5. Follow the directions below to the school. FROM THE NORTH (travelling south on 1-5): Take Exit 181, marked Lynwood. At the end of the exit, turn right. You are on 196th St. SW. Go to the third stoplight after the freeway and turn left onto 44th Ave. W. Proceed on 44th approximately 1.5 miles to light at 217th SW. Turn left into school driveway. You may park anywhere in the parking lot to your left marked Student Parking. Enter the school be the front door, across the pedestrian bridge. FROM THE SOUTH (travelling north on 1-5) Take Exit 181, marked Lynwood/44th Avenue West. Take this long exit to the stop light on 44th Avenue West at the end of the exit. Turn right on 44th Avenue West. Continue on this street until you see Mountlake Terrace High School on your left. Turn left into the school driveway at the traffic light on 217th. You may park anywhere in the parking lot marked Student Parking. Enter the school by the front door, across the pedestrian bridge. ON SURFACE STREETS: If you are on local surface streets, the key is 44th Avenue West. It is a major North/South arterial and can be reached by traveling on key East/West streets such as 188th SW (right out of Alderwood Mall), and 196th SW or 121st SW or the county line road which is 205th on the King County grid and 244th on the Snohomish County grid. |
