Seattle - Julia Gray and Tiffiany Diggins have decided not to return to the Washington women's basketball team next season, coach June Daugherty announced today.

Gray, from Riverside, Calif., was the Huskies' point guard for two seasons and averaged 4.5 points per game during her freshman and sophomore seasons. She led the team with 103 assists and 62 steals and earned honorable mention all-Pac-10 academic honors following the 2000 season.

Diggins, from Seattle's Mt. Rainier High School, joined the UW program as walk-on during the 1998-99 season. She was a redshirt freshman last year and saw limited action in 21 games.

"It is a disappointment when players do not return to the program," Daugherty said. "I respect their decision and wish them future success. Julia and Tiffiany are outstanding young women and were a pleasure to coach."

Go Huskies!
