SEATTLE - The University of Washington women's basketball coach Kevin McGuff announced Monday that sophomore guard/wing Ashley Moore would seek a transfer.

The 5-10 Moore, a native of Vallejo, Calif., did not see action for the Huskies this season. She played in 11 games as a freshman, averaging 0.5 points.

Moore was signed after a 2010 high school season at Vallejo that saw the wing player average 16.6 ppg for Vallejo.

"I want to thank Ashley for her contributions to our program," McGuff said. "And I want to wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors."

Should Moore transfer to another Division I university, she will be required to sit out the 2012-13 season because of NCAA transfer rules, and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

"I would like to thank the coaching staff and the University of Washington for the opportunity," Moore said. "I'm looking forward to this next step in my life."

Go Huskies!
