April 3, 2001 Seattle - The Washington women's basketball team will be honored in a pre-game ceremony on the field at the April 4 Seattle Mariners baseball game. Husky head coach June Daugherty is set to throw out the first pitch prior to the Seattle - Oakland game that begins at 3:30 p.m. at Safeco Field Wednesday. Washington recently completed its season after advancing to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies finished with a record of 22-10 and are ranked No. 14 in the April 2 ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll. |
