Quoting Washington Head Coach June Daugherty:
ON HOW ARIZONA STATE PLAYED
"Michelle Tom was obviously the shot of the game. I was really impressed with Jantzen and Newman. I thought they played so much better here than when we met them the first time. The other thing is, Tucker was just so tough down the stretch, especially with her free throw shooting."
ON HOW WASHINGTON PLAYED
"I thought we played hard enough to win the game in regulation. I thought we had momentum in the first couple possessions in overtime. Unfortunately for us, free throws were a huge difference only making 8 of 21 and again credit to Arizona State for making their shots (20 of 24)."
ON UW SECOND HALF
"We really bared down defensively. I thought our 2-3 match-up confused them a little bit and we were able to get some steals. Amber Hall did a great job in the 2-3. When we went man-to-man, Malinda Lynch came up with some huge steals and deflections to get the ball going the other way."
Quoting Washington player Molly Hills:
ON HER TEAM FIGHTING BACK IN THE SECOND HALF
"I think the way we came back showed that we are maturing and growing as a team, and that was a positive thing to bring out of this game."
