Women's Basketball Hosts Take a Kid to the Game Night
Feb. 7, 2001
The Washington women's basketball game against No. 22 Arizona Feb. 8 is a part of the national "Take a Kid to the Game" Campaign.
The Huskies invite area youth to watch Washington take on the 22nd-ranked Wildcats at 7 p.m., Thursday at Bank of America Arena. Kids age 12 and under will receive a free youth general admission ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket.
This one-of-a kind initiative will be promoted at more than 500 men's and women's collegiate basketball games across the country during the 2001 season. The NCAA women's basketball "Take a Kid to the Game" program, sponsored by Regal by Buick and supported by NCAA Basketball, is entering its sixth year.
"Washington is excited to be participating in the NCAA Basketball Take a Kid to the Game program," said Husky head coach June Daugherty. "The Huskies want young children to experience what it's like to participate in college athletics and see the rewards of playing."
Tickets for the game are available at the Husky ticket office or by calling (206) 543-2200.
The Take a Kid to the Game program is a coordinated effort between NCAA Basketball, Host Communications, Inc. and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
The Huskies, tied for second place in the Pac-10 Conference, follow the Arizona game with a contest against Arizona State at 2 p.m., Sat., Feb.10.
