No. 17 Women's Hoops Falls to Oregon, 72-57

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Natalie Hughes scored 26 points and led two second-half runs as Oregon defeated No. 17 Washington, 72-57, Saturday night.
The Ducks were up by just four points, 56-52, with just over five minutes to play, when Hughes scored seven points in a 13-0 run that gave Oregon (14-7, 10-3 Pac-10) a commanding 69-52 lead.
Washington (16-6, 7-6) was held scoreless for three minutes during the run and managed just one point in the five-minute span as the Ducks opened their lead to as many as 19 with just under a minute to play.
Hughes had 17 points in the second half and finished 10 of 18 from the field as the Ducks claimed their eighth victory in nine games.
Oregon had trailed 35-33 at halftime, but Hughes opened the second half with six points in a 15-5 run, giving the Ducks a 48-40 lead with 13:12 to play.
The Ducks shot 55 percent for the game and got 12 points from Sonja Curtis and 10 from Natasha O'Brien.
For the second game in a row, Oregon did much of its damage from the foul line, hitting 23-of-28 free throws. Lisa Bowyer scored all nine of her points from the line and added five assists.
With 11 players scoring, the Huskies landed just one player in double figures as Jamie Redd got all 11 of her points in the first half, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
The Huskies opened strong, taking a 13-4 lead five minutes into the game.
But Oregon went on a 14-2 run with Bowyer hitting a pair of free throws to put the Ducks ahead 20-17 with 10:15 to play in the half.
