Huskies Keep Record Perfect in Home Opener

SEATTLE- Jamie Redd scored 19 first half points enroute to a game-high 24 to lead the 24th-ranked Huskies to a home-opening 77-59 victory over Montana State in front of 2,326 fans at Hec Edmundson Pavilion Thursday night. Redd tied a school record with six three point baskets, five of which she had in the first half. Amber Hall followed with 19 points and a game-high eight rebounds as the Huskies improved to 4-0 on the season. Montana State drops to 2-3.

MSU scored first to open the game but then Redd hit her first three as UW ran off the next nine points. She extended the UW lead to 22 points with 2:11 remaining in the game, after running off 11 straight points. MSU scored the final six points of the half to make it 40-24, Huskies at the break.

Megan Franza, who connected on three treys, hit her first to open the second half for UW. MSU's Natalie Smith was a spark for the Lady Bobcats as she scored four straight. She finished as the leading scorer for her team with 17 points.

The Huskies take on No. 5 Vanderbilt (5-0), in a battle of unbeaten teams at 7:30 p.m. Sat., Dec. 6. Tipoff was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. but was changed due to NCAA Volleyball. UW is 1-0 versus ranked teams this season, with a 63-62 victory over No. 20 Iowa Nov. 30 Washington
