SEATTLE - Junior Kyle McMorrow will be heading east to compete in his first career ITA National Indoor Championships this week, while the rest of the Husky men's tennis team heads down to Eugene for the PNW Intercollegiates. McMorrow's tournament run starts on Thursday while the tourney at Oregon runs Friday through Sunday.

McMorrow earned an at-large bid to the ITA's second major tournament of the fall season. The ITA National Indoor Championships is the hardest field to crack out of the year's three national championships, as only 32 players make the cut. This is the first time that McMorrow has qualified, and the first appearance for a Husky at the tournament since Alex Slovic played the singles draw in 2005 and the doubles draw that same year with Daniel Chu.

The tournament is held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. In the first round on Thursday, McMorrow will play No. 8-seed Dennis Nevolo of Illinois.

Oregon hosts the PNW Intercollegiates for the first time this fall, after Washington hosted the past couple of years. Freshman Emmett Egger is the top seed in the draw that features a full Oregon squad and competitors from Idaho, Seattle U, Portland State, and Nevada.

Also competing this weekend in Oregon will be seniors Matt Stith and Skyler Tateishi, junior Marton Bots, sophomore Max Manthou, redshirt freshman Nicholas Kamisar, and freshman Jeff Hawke.

Go Huskies!
