UW Men's Tennis Finishes Fourth Place in Pac-10 Conference

SEATTLE, Wash. - The 18th-ranked University of Washington men's tennis team finished the 2000-01 regular season with a 18-7 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the Pac-10, good enough for fourth place in the conference. With a perfect mark of 7-0, Stanford is atop the Pac-10, followed by UCLA (6-1) and California (4-3).
Washington has two players currently in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings. Sophomore Matt Hanlin came in at No. 46 with an overall record of 22-10 and junior transfer Andrej Bizjak is at No. 49 with a record of 22-11.
The Huskies are set to compete in the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, Calif., beginning Thurs. April 26 and concluding Sun. April 29. Draws for singles and doubles play in the 101st-annual tournament will be conducted tonight, and matches will begin promptly at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. Final Standings |
