The University of Washington men's tennis team was ranked 28th in the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association's poll. The Huskies finished last season ranked 33rd with a 15-9 record, 3-4 in conference play, for fourth place in the Pac-10. Defending national champion Stanford, came in at No. 1 with 42 first-place votes. Other Pac-10 teams that were ranked included: No. 3 UCLA, No. 13 USC, No. 24 California, No. No. 52 Arizona State, No. 60 Arizona, and No. 63 Oregon. The Huskies are set to take on unranked Portland in their first home match of the season on Wednesday, January 17th. Matches are set to begin at 4:00 p.m. and will take place in the Nordstrom Tennis Center. |
