Men's Tennis Duo Falls in Regional Finals

MORAGA, Calif. -- Washington's men's tennis doubles team of Robert Kendrick and Nick Quatrochi advanced to the finals of the Northern California Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals held in Moraga, Calif. only to fall to Stanfords Ryan Wolters and Kirk Hippensteel, 7-5, 7-6 (2). Kendrick and Quatrochi, unranked, upset 33rd ranked Geoff Abrams and Alex Kim of Stanford to reach the finals. Wolters-Hippensteel are ranked 21st and the top-seed in the doubles draw and Kendrick-Quatrochi were the third-seed.
In singles play, Andy Posavac won three matches to reach the quarterfinals before falling to Stanfords Wolters 6-4, 6-2. Posavac improved his record to 7-2. Robert Kendrick, ranked 21st, reached the third-round before being upset by Cals Eric Dmytruk 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. Kendrick is now 5-2 on the season.
The Huskies return to action next weekend, Nov. 13-15, hosting the Husky Fall Challenge in the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
