Kendrick Continues to Roll at All-American Championships
October 16, 1998 AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomore men's tennis player Robert Kendrick advanced to the round of 16 of the All-American Championships held in Austin, Texas Friday afternoon. The 21st-ranked Kendrick upset fifth-ranked and third-seeded Francisco Rodriguez of Alabama 6-2, 6-4. With the win, Kendrick matched the farthest advancement of any Husky ever in the tournament. Kendrick faces 54th-ranked Rafael Fontes of Southwest Louisiana tomorrow morning and if victorious, he also plays in the quarterfinal round that evening.
