TULSA, Okla. - Washington's run at the 2008 D'Novo ITA All-American Championships came to a close today as the doubles team of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Patrik Fischer fell one win short of reaching the main draw.

Nedunchezhiyan, a sophomore, and Fischer, a senior, won twice yesterday in the qualifying draw and needed to upset the bracket's top-seed from Pepperdine to move into the 32-team main draw. However, Omar Altmann and Bassam Beidas, the 23rd-ranked team in the nation, notched an 8-4 victory.

For the tournament, Fischer and Nedunchezhiyan each went 1-1 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles.

Next up for the pair and the rest of the Washington squad will be the ITA Northwest Regional Championships, hosted by Cal in Berkeley, Calif.
