Slovic Reaches the Consolation Final at the ITA All-American Championships

Tulsa, OK.-- Husky tennis player, Alex Slovic, posted two more wins on Saturday to gain himself a spot in the consolation final at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships. Slovic has defeated four consecutive opponents, three of which are ranked, in straight sets to reach this final. In the consolation quarterfinal, Slovic defeated Duke's Jonathan Stokke 7-6(6), 6-3. After a close first set, Stokke may have suffered from fatigue do to his marathon three set match in the round of 16. Later that day, Slovic encountered Florida St. Sam Chang, whom he defeated 7-5, 6-3. Chang played in two three set matches, one in the round of 16 and in the quarterfinals. Slovic will play his consolation final match on Sunday, his opponent is Paul Todd of Wake Forest. Todd is an unranked player whom dispatched his opponent fairly easily in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-1. If Slovic is to prevails in the finals he will repeat his stunning performance where he recovered from an opening round loss to defeat five opponents and take home the ITA All-American Consolation Championship.
