Allen, Forrest Garner More National Honors

Dec. 14, 2007

SEATTLE - Washington soccer seniors Ely Allen and Kevin Forrest garnered more national honors, Friday, as Allen was selected a second-team All-American by College Soccer News and Forrest was named to the Lowe's All-Senior All-American first-team.

Allen, a native of Kent, Wash., was the 2007 Co-Pac-10 Player of the Year and an NSCAA All-Far West Region third-team honoree as well this season. Allen scored a Pac-10 leading 12 goals, helping the Huskies as far as the second-round of the NCAA Tournament.

Forrest, a native of Edmonds, Wash., was one of just five student-athletes to earn Lowe's All-Senior All-American first-team status, joined by the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award recipient Evan Barnes (U.S. Naval Academy) as well as Loyola Marymount's Trini Gomez, Connecticut's Julius James and Duke's Tim Jepson. The All-Senior All-American second-team included Pac-10 standout Mike Zaher from UCLA as well.

Forrest, recently named the Pac-10 Scholar Athlete of the Year for men's soccer and a three-time All-Pac-10 honoree, has a 3.45 grade point average and will graduate from Washington with a degree in business. The Husky senior finished his career as one of the top goal scorers in UW history.

Both Allen and Forrest will take part in the 2008 MLS Player Combine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jan. 11-15.
