Three Huskies Honored On All-Region Team
Dec. 11, 2012
SEATTLE –Seniors Dylan Tucker-Gangnes and Ben Fisk and junior Spencer Richey were named to the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s All-Far West Region team. This is the first such honor for any of these student-athletes. It is also the first time since 2006 that the Huskies have put at least three players on the All-Region team. “These three players were the heart and soul of our team,” said head coach Jamie Clark. “They deserve every honor/award that they get. The reason we had such a great year is directly related to the level at which these you men performed.” Tucker-Gangnes (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) earned First-Team honors along with 11 other players. A senior co-captain for the Huskies, Tucker-Gangnes anchored the back line that posted 10 shutouts. He led the team with eight goals and 16 points, including two game-winning goals. Earlier this year he was named to the Pac-12 First-Team. The Husky goalkeeper from Seattle, Wash., Richey earned Second-Team honors as one of just three keepers selected to one of the three teams. He played every minute in goal for the UW and posted 10 shutouts while making 68 saves with a 0.85 GAA while also earning First-Team All-Pac-12 honors. Fisk earned Third-Team honors capping a great three-year Husky career. The Federal Way, Wash., native was third on the team with three goals and three assists for nine points. He anchored the midfield and was a co-captain with Tucker-Gangnes. View the complete All-Far West team here. The Huskies had the second most on the team behind UCLA. |
